The state officer team has established a set of broad goals for the year. We encourage local chapter leadership to assist us in achieving these goals whenever possible.

  • Have at least two representatives at all FBLA (high school level) state and regional conferences for the purpose of establishing contacts and creating awareness of PBL.
  • Each officer must maintain contact with an adviser of at least 2 FBLA chapters in their area so that a more concrete relationship can be established with high school FBLA members.
  • The state officer team should invest time to assist the local chapters in recruiting new members at their schools.
  • Establish contact for the purpose of activation with a key contact at various school determined by the officer team.

Communication

Objective: Utilize all effective mediums for communication, including feedback channels, and ensure that all members are aware of these mediums.

  • Distribute all news and announcements through the website and applicable social networks.
  • Form a committee composed of all chapter presidents to periodically meet online or in person with the state officer team.
  • Heavily promote the website through: Email Lists, Social Networks, Local Chapter Officers, Conference Announcements
  • Publish a bi-weekly blog to keep members informed. The blog should be prominently linked from the website and also promoted in conjunction with the website.

Activities and Programs

Objective: Sponsor a variety of activities and programs throughout the entirety of the academic year that support the goals of the organization and create a meaningful experience for members.

  • Have three PBL leadership conferences that occur in Fall, Winter, and Spring.
  • Increase attendance by percentage of total membership at all conferences through stronger promotional strategies.
  • Establish conference locations and dates by August so that local chapters may prepare travel arrangements well in advanced.
  • Have at least one state sponsored service project that benefits a local community or non-profit organization.

Public Relations / Marketing

Objective: Promote the organization to businesses, organizations, and community members to raise awareness and instill a positive image for the organization.

  • Each officer should contact at least 5 businesses throughout the year to establish resources for judging, sponsorships, etc. Whenever possible, membership to the professional division should be encouraged to the local business owners / managers.
  • The state officer team will offer a scholarship, for a minimum amount of $400, to an FBLA student to create more awareness for the organization and strengthen the connection between the high school and college levels.
  • Create or gather resources that promote the organization and highlight its benefits to students and the local community.
  • Have press releases sent out for all of the major events throughout the year in an effort to receive press coverage from school, local, or national news organizations.
  • Develop a marketing budget to be utilized by the officer team to carry out the public relations / marketing objective.
