The first PBL chapter was established in Iowa in 1958, and the first Arizona PBL chapter was founded at NAU in 1969. Arizona PBL currently has 10 chapters throughout Arizona at the following schools:

  • Arizona State University
  • Central Arizona College
  • Eastern Arizona College
  • Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
  • Paradise Valley Community College
  • University of Arizona
  • Yavapai College-Verde Campus

Competitive Events Program

PBL’s National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. Through state-based competition at the spring State Leadership Conference, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. State winners compete for honors at the National Leadership Conference each summer. Check out the competitive events guide

Leadership Conferences

PBL members gain a competitive edge by having the opportunity to participate in leadership conferences throughout the year. At these conferences, members compete in business related events, share their successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their career future through workshops and exhibits.

Funding & Endorsements

Arizona PBL is funded by membership dues, conference fees, and corporate and individual contributions. The national organization is recognized by the Association for Career and Technical Education, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, National Association of Parliamentarians, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Business Education Association, and the U.S. Department of Education. Arizona PBL is recognized by the Arizona Business Education Association and the Arizona Business Education Advisory Council.

Community Service

Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda is the largest non-profit contributor to March of Dimes. The mission of March of Dimes is to “…improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality” (marchofdimes.com). We whole-heartedly support their efforts and urge local chapters to also support the March of Dimes through their own creative efforts.
